(KNSI) – It may be scheduled for the day after the unofficial end of summer, but organizers are still expecting a great show at Eastman Park in St. Cloud on Tuesday, September 3rd.

Troy Fritz tells KNSI when The Fabulous Armadillos and Collective Unconscious take the stage, it will still feel like Summertime by George.

“We’ll have a big crowd, people coming back from Labor Day weekend. Now we just kind of look forward and try to end the season on a real high note.”

Rescheduling a postponed concert takes a lot of work. Fritz says it was a group effort to make it possible.

“We had to extend liquor licenses and approval from the city and even extend our raffle ticket sales permits and all that. So, there was a lot of things. We had to get the different vendors, police department, everybody on board for what we were going to do. Everybody was gracious.”

The show is free. It kicks off with the opening act, Walter’s Wheelhouse, at 5:00 p.m., a little earlier than the traditional schedule. The main act is a tribute to the Eagles and the Doobie Brothers.

Having a September Summertime by George concert provides a unique opportunity for St. Cloud State University students to attend. The venue is only blocks from campus. Mayor Dave Kleis asked senior administration to spread the word during a conversation on Monday at the city council work session.
