(KNSI) – Law enforcement, EMS, and first responders were honored at this week’s Benton County Board of Commissioners meeting for saving the life of Gilman’s Bradley Ott on May 20th.
The sheriff’s office says that at 5:30 p.m. on that day, Bradley’s wife Joanne called 911 because he was struggling to breathe. Joel Newberg from Mayo Ambulance talked Joanne through how to do CPR over the phone while dispatchers Lindsey Galvin and Katie Dusing coordinated first responders.
Members of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, a Minnesota State Patrol trooper, and Foley Police and Fire all rushed to Ott’s home. They were able to get Bradley breathing again. He woke up and talked to paramedics on his way to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.
In all, 16 people worked together to ensure that Bradley was able to appear at the Benton County Government Center Tuesday. They were presented with a Life Saving Award.
