(KNSI) – Two people were arrested early Tuesday in Morrison County when a traffic stop turned into a narcotics seizure.

A deputy pulled over a vehicle traveling north on Highway 10 near Cushing at 2:10 a.m. He became suspicious that drugs might be inside and used a K-9 officer to investigate. They came across hypodermic needles and methamphetamine.

The driver was identified as 27-year-old Reba Lego from Grand Forks, North Dakota. The passenger was Toni Myhre of Mahnomen. Both were taken to jail.

Sheriff Shawn Larsen says over five ounces of methamphetamine was seized. He called the amount significant and said the community is safer due to the work of the deputy. Larsen says narcotics are a priority of the department.
