(KNSI) – With a thriving arts and entertainment scene, great outdoor recreation choices, and plenty of options for a night out, Minnesota is fun.

Personal finance website WalletHub has noticed. The Land of 10,000 Lakes came in at number nine on its list of most fun states in America. How do we stack up to the rest of the country?

We’re eighth in the U.S. in movie theatres per capita and even better if you like stage plays, ranking fourth. Minnesota has the sixth most golf courses per capita and eighth most casinos per capita. As you can imagine, given those statistics, we stack up well as far as the variety of amusement options goes at fifth overall.

Minnesota is behind only Illinois in the Midwest, which is ranked sixth. The other states at the top of the list tend to be clustered on the coasts or in the south. Florida fits both those criteria and is ranked first. It’s followed by California, Nevada, and New York.
