Medical Emergency Suspected as Cause of Friday Morning Crash

(KNSI) – The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says a medical emergency may have been the cause of a crash Friday morning.

Authorities say they were called to an accident with possible injuries near County Road 13 and 320th Street in Lake George Township about 10:30. They found an SUV in the west ditch of County 13, Medics were tending to the driver, a 27-year-old man from Melrose. He told deputies before the crash, he remembered feeling light headed and dizzy before running off the road but had trouble recaling any other details.

The man was not seriously injured, and deputies say they believe he suffered a medical event beforehand. Alcohol and drug use were not suspected as a factor.
