(KNSI) – The Common Roots Festival will take over St. Cloud next weekend, closing down West St. Germain Street on Saturday, August 24th.
On its final day, a bazaar will be set up in the street with local vendors selling various goods and merchandise. The city is closing down West St. Germain from 5th Avenue to 6th Avenue between 9:00 a.m., and 4:00 p.m. Nine different businesses will have music stages set up with two and sometimes three different performers.
The event runs for four days and is meant to help boost the local restaurant, bar, and entertainment scene. A $10 button gets you into all of the partner venues where music will be played. The concerts run from all ages during the day to either 18-plus, or 21-and-over in the evening.
Common Roots eases into its schedule this year. There is one performance on Wednesday, August 21st, at Beaver Island Brewing. Olde Brick House and the Red Carpet Nightclub get into the action on Thursday. In addition to music, there will be the Downtown Art Crawl on Friday evening.
