(KNSI) – Residents can speak before the St. Cloud Zoning Board of Appeals votes on granting a stone works company permission to relocate to Airport Buissnes Park.

Monument Sales Incorporated is asking for a conditional use permit to operate its stone-cutting business at 401 Electron Drive and 485 Electron Drive. The land was recently rezoned from Industrial Zone 3 to I1, but the company still needs a special permit to operate there.

MIS is looking to move from 537 22nd Avenue North to the lots so they can expand. Plans include reusing the 10,000-square-foot former Bever Island Brewing cannery, building a new 10,500-square-foot office, adding a 15,000-square-foot manufacturing center, a 1,300-square-foot lean-to and a 2,500-square-foot storage building.

St. Cloud staff recommends giving the project the thumbs-up as long as parking and storage requirements are met, stormwater ponding is built, and exterior lighting is added.

The zoning board of appeals will hold a public hearing on the proposed CUP at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
