Oblivion Coffee Bar & Mercantile to Close After One Year Due to Building Issues

(KNSI) – A downtown St. Cloud coffee shop is closing its doors on Friday.

Oblivion CoffeeBar & Mercantile owner Hailey Koep opened her doors in August 2023. She called realizing a dream when she strated the place at 27 7th Avenue North in downtown St. Cloud. Koep went to Oblivion’s Facebook page to make the emotional announcement to the coffee house’s friends, family and community, “I appreciate you guys and everything that you’ve done this last year at Oblivion. We’ve met so many great people. I had a bunch of really good events.”

She talked about what led to her making the difficult decision. “I couldn’t have predicted this closing. I had quite a few problems with the building, and it really sucked me dry since the beginning, so… and we haven’t been able to recover. So, it’s a hard goodbye to say.”

The space used to house a wine bar and had been vacant for seven years before becoming Oblivion. Koep went on to say she appreciated everyone’s business.
