(KNSI) – The Minnesota Senior Games return to St. Cloud.

This year’s event starts today, August 15th and runs through Sunday, the 18th. Organizers say over 700 athletes from 24 states age 50 and older will compete in over 15 events, including archery, track and field, swimming, cycling and pickleball. Events are happening all around the metro area.

The Minnesota Senior Games celebrates health, fitness, and the competitive spirit of older adults. The annual multi-sport event is a chance for athletes to showcase their skills, and enjoy the camaraderie of other athletes.

The 2024 Minnesota Senior Games is particularly special as it is a qualifying event for the National Senior Games, which will be held in Des Moines, Iowa, in 2025.

The games are open to the public and free to attend. St. Cloud also hosted the games in 2015, 2016, 2019 and 2023.
