(KNSI) – With 27 of 28 precincts reporting, the candidates in St. Cloud’s mayoral and city council races have been whittled down for the November ballot.

There were six candidates for mayor, with two advancing to the general election. Jake Anderson finished in first place with 1,662 votes, and Mike Conway finished second with 1,460 votes.

They finished ahead of Carol Lewis’s 1,418 votes, Anne Buckvold’s 1,293, James Trantina III’s 992 and Steven Schiller’s 242.

Sixteen people threw their hats in the ring for the city council. Six people will advance to the next round, where three will be elected. Moving on are Tami Calhoun with 2,621 votes, Hudda Ibrahim with 2,378, George Hontos with 2,108, Mark Johnson with 1,802, Scott Brodeen with 1,488, and Omar Abdullahi Podi with 1,292 votes.

Three candidates filed for Sauk Rapids mayor, with two advancing. The race is now on the fall ballot. With five of six precincts reporting, Jason Ellering won with 324 votes and Nicholas Sauer with 267 votes. Andrew Neussendorfer got 47.

Jeanne Hendricks has won the Democratic nomination for the U.S. House in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District. She will face Republican Tom Emmer.

Michelle Fischbach wins the Republican nomination for the U.S. House in Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District.

Royce White wins Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in Minnesota primary election.
