(KNSI) – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is providing more details on an incident that left rising outlaw country star Creed Fisher hospitalized and enduring multiple surgeries.

Fisher was in town for a Saturday show as part of the Rollie’s summer concert series. At about 7:10 p.m., he was hurt while riding a motorcycle on Golden Spike Road to the bar. Sheriff Troy Heck says Fisher was at a home in the area with two other men, one of whom he had just met that day. Fisher was following him to the bar, riding alongside the third man, when they became separated from the lead motorcycle.

They rounded a curve to see the man stopped in the middle of the roadway. Fisher tried to slow down and go around the person when he allegedly turned his bike and abruptly pulled in front of Fisher. The two motorcycles collided, and Fisher went down. He suffered serious injuries and had to be taken by ambulance to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital.

The man thought to have caused the collision took off on foot and has yet to be located. Officials say they believe they know his identity, but the investigation remains active.

Mayo Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol, and the Sauk Rapids Police Department assisted the sheriff’s office.
