(KNSI) – Residents are invited to take a tour of Lake George next month.

The City of St. Cloud’s stormwater division, in partnership with Sauk River Watershed District, will take residents on a roughly one mile walking excursion to showcase the steps taken to improve the lake’s water quality while also enjoying the scenery. The guided tour will detail how the lake has changed over the years, what is being done to protect it and why stormwater management is so important.

It will also cover the alum treatments to the lake and the purpose of the swan pond next to it.

The tour is Tuesday, September 24th, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The cost is $10, and a light meal and drink ticket will be provided. The tour starts at the northeast portion of the Lake George parking lot and ends at Beaver Island Brewing Company. Registration opens August 19th and spots are limited.
