The program is part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and has provided over $1 billion since 1978 to establish, expand, improve, and maintain 122 state, territorial, and tribal Veterans cemeteries.

“This grant means so much to the thousands of veterans and their families who rest or visit loved ones in Little Falls,” said Rep. Fischbach. “While we can never fully repay our veterans, this is one way to show our deep gratitude for their sacrifices.”

“It’s our duty to remember our fallen service members and honor their memories,” said Sen. Klobuchar. “This federal grant will help upgrade the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, ensuring families have a peaceful, dignified place to pay their respects.”

“Our servicemembers who sacrifice so much for our country deserve the utmost respect,” said Sen. Smith. “This grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs will make essential improvements to the final resting place for thousands of veterans in our state, ensuring they are honored as they deserve.”

The Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery – Little Falls was opened in 1994. The cemetery grounds are open for visitors during daylight hours, seven days a week.
