Help Shape Benton County’s Future, Apply Now for Planning Commission, Board of Adjustments, and Solid Waste Advisory Committee Positions

(KNSI) — Benton County is looking for residents to help shape future development by joining the planning commission and the board of adjustments in districts 3 and 4.

Those who are interested apply to the Benton County Board of Commissioners who then appoint them to the planning commission.

The commission ensures that building requests align with the county’s comprehensive plan, reviews and decides on minor preliminary plans, major plats and amendments to the development code.

The board of adjustment is a quasi-judicial body that hears and decides appeals and requests related to zoning ordinances and other regulations.

There is an immediate opening on the solid waste advisory committee. The seven-member board recommends various solid waste-related issues, such as proposed regulations and grant applications.

The applications will remain open until the seats are filled.
