(KNSI) — Starting January 1st, 2026, Minnesota’s Paid Leave program goes into effect, offering job protections and partial wage replacement to employees needing time off for personal or family care.

Minnesota Paid Leave Director Greg Norfleet and his team are partnering with local chambers of commerce for a series of regional engagement sessions, and one is coming up in St. Cloud on Wednesday, August 7th. Business owners, managers, and human resource professionals are strongly encouraged to attend. Those who come will receive guidance on how to prepare for the wage detail and reporting deadline. There is also a program update and a question and answer session with Norfleet and staff from the Department of Employment and Economic Development.

The session is at the St. Cloud City Hall City Council Chambers at 1201 7th Street South in St. Cloud from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

This event is free, but preregistration is required as space is limited. Please register online, email the Chamber, or call the Chamber office at 320-656-3826. Learn more and find a link to register by clicking here.
