(KNSI) – No kidding around, the Stearns County Fair is going to the goats on Thursday.
The local 4-H club is putting the adorable barn animals in the spotlight. Shows run at 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. Sheep will trot around the Indoor Show Arena at 2:00 p.m.
The full slate of events kicks off much earlier. A poultry show is scheduled at 8:00 a.m. Horse judging is set for 10:00 a.m. at the Outdoor Arena. A roping demonstration follows at 11:30.
Green thumbs can rejoice. The Stearns County Master Gardeners sponsor Gardening For Fun at 10:00 a.m. All exhibit buildings will welcome visitors until 9:00 p.m.
Entertainment gets going a little earlier than Wednesday. Bingo and music are scheduled for noon. The Heritage Stage will once again feature Donny Brang. It’s followed by a Senior Citizens Recognition Program at 1:00. Gig Noonan plays the Herald Bandshell at 6:00.
The midway will light up at 3:00 p.m. rather than 5:00, with a full complement of rides. The feature entertainment at the Grandstand is the Demolition Derby. Organizers say the closer you are to the action, the dirtier you can expect to go home. They recommend bringing a blanket for splatter protection.
