(KNSI) – St. Cloud legislators on both sides of the aisle are well-liked by the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association.
Representative Dan Wolgamott of the DFL announced his endorsement from the organization earlier this week. His Republican counterpart in District 14A next door, Bernie Perryman, has also received the group’s approval.
In a letter sent May 9th, the MPPOA said Perryman had earned a tip of the cap without reservation. It cited her support of law enforcement across the state and work to make Minnesota communities safe as the reasons for the endorsement.
The MPPOA has nearly 11,000 active members, with another 2,000 members who have retired. Its support can be critical in close elections. Perryman was elected in 2022 to her first term with a narrow majority of the vote. She turned back a challenge from Tamara Calhoun, 50.6%-49.3%.
