(KNSI) – Two area businesses teamed with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to support patients at the Coborn Cancer Center.

St. Cloud Subaru and Used Car Outlet delivered 80 blankets and 30 patient care kits to the facility, packed with luxury items like colored pencils and coloring books, socks, stress balls, tissues and a water bottle.

Care Coordinator Juliana Neumann says the gifts offer comfort to newly diagnosed patients. She adds that for those facing life-threatening diseases, small gestures go farther than many can imagine. She believes a small pillow that can be transformed into a blanket is enough to put a smile on a patient’s face.

The art kits are used by children at the center getting treatment or by families with kids who are visiting to try to provide cheer and support to someone staying there.
