(KNSI) – A man seriously injured after a truck reported stolen from St. Cloud caused a multiple-car crash in Becker has died.

Investigators say on July 6th, around 3:15 Saturday afternoon, a Sherburne County Sheriff’s Deputy was trying to stop the driver of a Dodge Ram when the suspect crashed into two vehicles at the intersection of Highway 10 and Liberty Lane. The suspect then drove off the road to the right and hit a Subaru Outback that was in a gas station parking lot.

Thirty-six-year-old Christopher James Vyskocil was driving one of the cars and was airlifted to North Memorial with life-threatening injuries. The Becker man suffered major injuries to his head, according to the family’s GoFundMe page. On Monday, around 6:00 p.m., Vyskocil passed away. He leaves behind a wife, three sons and a stepdaughter.

Sherburne County Jail

According to court records, 21-year-old Bradley Alfred Allen Johnson of Montrose is due in Sherburne County District Court on Wednesday on an additional charge of criminal vehicular homicide. He was already being held in jail on two felony counts and two gross misdemeanor counts of criminal vehicular operation, receiving stolen property and fleeing a peace officer in connection with the four-vehicle wreck. Johnson remains jailed on $100,000 bond.

Court records show he has been convicted three times in 2024 for driving with a revoked license. He’s also been convicted twice this year for driving without insurance and was fined twice last year for speeding.

Police say while at the scene, Johnson admitted to using heroin about five hours earlier.
