(KNSI) – A man’s body has been pulled from the Mississippi River in St. Cloud in a potential suicide.

According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were called to Veterans Bridge after a witness said they saw a man “jump off” the bridge. The crossing connects East St. Cloud and downtown over the Mississippi River.

A St. Cloud Police officer arrived and saw a man floating downriver before losing sight of him. Officials say Stearns County’s Dive Team arrived but couldn’t find anyone. Around 3:20 p.m., the Stearns/Benton Dive team found the man’s body in about 14 feet of water. The Midwest Medical Examiners Office Identified him as 56-year-old Douglas Ingram of Faribault.

Surveillance cameras captured Ingram walking to Veterans Bridge. A short time later, another camera captured him falling into the river.

The case remains active and is being investigated by the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
