(KNSI) — Two people are jailed after two separate drug busts in as many days in St. Cloud.

According to a press release from the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force, the agency has been conducting investigations into the sales of pressed fentanyl pills and crack cocaine in the St. Cloud area.

On Thursday, police executed a knock and announce search warrant at a home on the 10 block of 4th Avenue Southeast. Authorities say they found suspected crack cocaine and ammunition. The 56-year-old man there was taken into custody and is awaiting formal drug possession charges. He is also allegedly connected to a previous case where he is suspected of selling crack cocaine.

Friday morning, the task force executed a knock and announce search warrant at a home in the 500 block of 8th Avenue North. This warrant was regarding an investigation into the distribution of fentanyl. Investigators say the fentanyl, commonly referred to as M-Box 30 pills, has been linked to local overdoses and local overdose deaths.

During the search, police say they found suspected fentanyl pills and a firearm. The 22-year-old man at that house was booked into the Stearns County jail awaiting formal charges of drug possession and negligent storage of a firearm. The suspect was also arrested in a previous case for allegedly selling fentanyl.

The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force was assisted by the St. Cloud Police Department SWAT Team.
