(KNSI) – Waite Park is actively shopping around for a construction manager to oversee the expansion of its municipal building.

The addition will give the city’s police department much-needed breathing room. The large commercial district means the number of people who work or visit Waite Park swells to 30,000 per day. Due to the heavy traffic, the number of officers patrolling the streets continues to climb well beyond what the current facility can handle.

Work is scheduled to start in spring 2025. The construction manager will limit costs by advocating for the city during the strategic design phase, ensuring the project remains on time, and planning how to guarantee minimal interruptions to city services while the building is an active job site.

BKV Group is the project’s architect, and SEH has been retained as the civil engineer. Construction manager applications are due by July 26th at 3:00 p.m.
