University Drive Bridge Closing Late Next Week

(KNSI) – Crews will close the University Drive Bridge in St. Cloud for the second half of July.

Current plans are to shut down the busy crossing over the Mississippi River at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12th. Other closures will include University Drive at 5th and 7th Avenues South. The road reopens at Kilian Boulevard.

Officials warn that this is a large project that will create significant traffic delays for drivers in the area. If possible, they advise finding an alternate route.

Access will be maintained for those who live and work nearby. Expect changes, and make sure you follow all signage, as entrances will shift as needed to accommodate the work.

The closure is expected to last until late July. The timeline is weather-dependent.
