(KNSI) – After about 24 hours of emergency work, the main repairs to the area’s sewer system are complete.

Residents are being given the green light to return to normal behavior. There is no longer a voluntary restriction on showering, laundry, tooth brushing, and other common activities.

Officials say they appreciate all of the efforts residents of St. Cloud, St. Joseph, Sartell, Sauk Rapids, and Waite Park made to reduce water usage over the past day or so. They note that capacity during the emergency had shrunk significantly. By lessening demand on the system, the fixes were able to take place as quickly as possible.
