(KNSI) – Flooding is turning a prominent Independence Day fireworks show into a dud.

Valleyfair says it will not be celebrating the Fourth of July under rockets’ red glare. The display will be rescheduled for later in the season.

The park is also shifting its operating hours as several parking lots are underwater, and capacity is a fraction of normal levels. It is shifting customers to off-site lots, where they then have to be shuttled to the main entrance.

Valleyfair’s chaperone policy is being extended to the full day, with hours set from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Soak City runs from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

More information about the impacts of flooding on the park is here.
