(KNSI) – Granite City Days starts Thursday on the campus of St. Cloud State University with the Lemonade Concert and Art Fair.

Vendors will be set up across campus with beautiful weather greeting visitors. Paintings, photography, the wild, and wacky will all be on display and available for purchase.

The opening ceremonies officially ring in the festival at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Dave Kleis will play a big part in the event. He says, “I’ll be presenting my Rock On awards that night and St. Cloud Symphony, that’s in Stuart Hall on the campus of SCSU.”

Kleis explains why they’ve shifted away from the outdoor stage. “Two years ago, it just moved inside to make sure that — you know, actually, the acoustics are great, and then it doesn’t have to mess with any of the weather.”

The last two years have been defined by intense heat. This year’s forecast is sublime. Sunshine and mid-70s are expected.

Parking for the art fair is available at the K Lot near the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. A shuttle will bring you to the main campus. The outdoor portion of the event begins at 11:00 a.m.

Granite City Days runs until Sunday with the Liberty Block Party, parade, Chalk the Block party, a 40th anniversary celebration of the Stearns History Museum, and Rock the Park all planned. More details are here.
