(KNSI) – St. Cloud could soon have two new neighborhoods.

The city council will vote on the final plans for the 54.8-acre 65 single-family home Harvest Creek addition and the development of 28 homes and an 180-unit apartment building over 40 acres in the city’s northwest side.

Both developments are part of the Spring Meadows area and would use 322nd Street. A plan to resurface the road will be discussed during a public hearing at the council meeting. Residents in the area have been concerned about the road’s disrepair.

The council will also hold a public hearing on CentraCare’s proposal to add three buildings to its plaza campus. The development will turn the 128-acre campus into a medical mall of specialties. CentraCare will start with an apartment complex for med school students and other professionals, 97 units in Phase One and possibly 33 more later.

The apartments will be connected to the medical school, which is set to be housed in the former administration building. The initial class will start their studies in the fall of 2025. Also planned are a new 170,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center and a 60,000-square-foot rehabilitation therapy building.

The city is also holding a future public hearing on establishing a Downtown Business Improvement District. The goal is to help keep the historic area clean, add amenities, and oversee beautification and security initiatives.

The proposed BID boundaries span the west and east sides of the Mississippi River from 11th Avenue North to the railroad tracks near Lincoln Avenue. The northern line generally follows 1st/Second Street and the railroad corridor east of the river. The southern boundary would be just below Division Street and East St Germain Street.

The council is also looking to set a date to hold a public hearing on allowing light-touch density housing. It gets underway at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
