Flood Watch For Sherburne County Until 1:00 A.M.

(KNSI) – A flood watch affecting Sherburne and Wright Counties goes into effect at 5:00 p.m. Monday.

Volatile atmospheric conditions could lead to severe thunderstorms and heavy rain, which would run into rivers that are already rising fast. The Crow River in southeastern Wright County will crest either Wednesday or Thursday within shouting distance of the previous record of about 23.3 feet.

Creeks and streams are also swollen, and urban flooding is possible as stormwater drains are overwhelmed. The National Weather Service says three inches is possible in isolated spots.

The watch ends at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday.
