(KNSI) — Raise your glasses to the start of the 2024 Summertime by George free concert series, starting Wednesday night.
This year’s theme is A Toast to Summer, which organizers say conveys a big-time party feel. This marks the first year alcoholic beverages will be sold and can be consumed all throughout Eastman Park by those 21 and over. A wristband system will still be used to prevent minor consumption.
In addition to the revamped layout, organizers discussed doing the little things right. A crew will handle proper sound checks and equipment tuning at the event, giving the performances a professional feel.
Four members of the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame are among this year’s headliners. Organizers say the quality of the opening acts is what makes this a strong year.
The opening acts now start at 5:30 instead of 5:00 in previous years. It allows those with families a little more time to get home from work and get the kids ready before heading to the park.
The shows run consecutively except for a one-week break around the 4th of July.
The full lineup is:
June 19 – Mason Dixon Line/Harper’s Chord
