(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Police Department says it responded to a suspected arson at an area business Monday morning.

A 39-year-old man from St. Paul is alleged to have purchased rubbing alcohol at the Walgreens located at 2505 W. Division Street, went into the parking lot, poured it onto a random stranger’s vehicle, and lit it on fire.

The victim was in the pharmacy drive-through line when the incident happened at about 10:10. She didn’t see him do it but noticed the fire and acted quickly. She was able to get the flames under control, but the vehicle was moderately damaged.

The man then left the scene. He was arrested near 22nd Avenue, about three blocks away.

On top of arson, he is also facing a pending drug possession charge. Officials believe the man and victim do not know each other.
