(KNSI) – The superstars of the 2024 Winstock festival might just work at the Wright County Highway Department.

It’s not known if they are good with a guitar or can belt out country tunes with a twang on stage, but crews have put in a ton of effort to reopen a key road heading to the event after a sinkhole formed this past weekend. County Road 30 from County Road 6 to County Road 8 was shut down after a culvert failed.

The stretch from Howard Lake to Waverly is the primary route for campers and concertgoers to the music festival. The culvert repair was completed Wednesday, and resurfacing was wrapped up Thursday morning. The asphalt has cooled, and traffic was crossing the road again as of 2:00 p.m.

When you are singing “Let Your Boys Be Country” in this flyover state during the Jason Aldean concert on Saturday, don’t forget to thank the Kings of the Road.
