(KNSI) — The road to Winstock may be a little less bumpy as work on a failed culvert is progressing quicker than anticipated.

County Road 30 between County Road 6 and County Road 8 between Howard Lake and Waverly was shut down this past weekend due to the culvert failure that caused a sinkhole to open up and crews closing down the stretch.

The Wright County Highway Department says it has made significant progress on the repairs by installing a new culvert and is working to divert the water flow. If the weather cooperates, they expect to remove the old culvert, complete the backfilling, and repave the road by Wednesday, June 12th. The road closure should then be lifted by Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.

The Winstock Country Music and Camping Festival runs Thursday through Sunday.
