(KNSI) – A major route to Winstock is closed due to a culvert failure over the weekend.
Wright County Road 30 between Howard Lake and Waverly is shut down indefinitely due to the need for emergency repairs.
The stretch is located between County Road 6 and County Road 8. Officials warn that it is one of the primary routes to get to the Winstock music festival scheduled for Thursday through Saturday.
The closure is due to the catastrophic failure of a four-foot-wide culvert that runs underneath the road, carrying a stream into Emma Lake. As a result of the collapse, a sinkhole has formed. The county says it will likely need approval from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to fix the situation, potentially extending how long it will affect drivers.
No detour is posted at this time.
