(KNSI) – A Sartell High School senior earned the top prize in this year’s Congressional Art Competition.
The Congressional Art Competition is an annual event for high school students across the United States. Congressman Tom Emmer honored Lydia Holmgren for her stunning pencil drawing of her great-grandmother, Pearl.
Holmgren’s drawing and the other winning pieces will hang in the tunnel connecting the U.S. Capitol and the Cannon House Office Building for one year.
Holmgren and the other winners will travel to Washington, D.C., to meet thier representatives and see their artwork displayed in the Halls of Congress.
