(KNSI) — Tri-County Humane Society is hosting a microchip clinic coming up next week.

Identifiers will be implanted in cats and dogs for $10 plus tax. Microchips are permanent forms of identification that can be picked up via scanners. The TCHS says, “That little chip can offer a big sense of security and reunite lost pets with their human.”

Almost 100 cats were removed from a home in Crosby last month and brought to the TCHS. Staff scanned them all, and one was chipped. The cat was later reunited with its family, who had been looking for it for the last seven years.

The event is Tuesday, June 4th, at the shelter from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary, as it’s a walk-in clinic only.

Pet Evolution will bring its mobile nail trim van to the event.

TCHS is located at 735 8th Street Northeast in St. Cloud.
