(KNSI) — Minnesota is coming to the aid of its neighbor to the south after last week’s devastating weather left a trail of destruction.
Following a request from officials in Iowa, Governor Tim Walz signed an executive order sending eight members of the Minnesota All Hazards Incident Management Team to Greenfield on a 14 day mission. Team members are trained professionals in the areas of emergency management, medical aid, firefighting, law enforcement, and public works. After arriving, they will work on volunteer management, debris removal, and the disaster declaration process.
In 2022, the group deployed to DeSoto County, Florida, to assist with recovery efforts following Hurricane Ian.
