(KNSI) — There’s only one week left for candidates to file for office.

St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis announced that he wouldn’t seek another term after 20 years. According to the Minnesota Secretary of State, St. Cloud City Councilwoman Carol Lewis and former St. Joseph City Councilwoman and former candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives, Anne Buckvold, have officially filed for candidacy to fill his shoes.

Councilman Mike Conway has also declared his intention to run but has yet to file.

St. Cloud’s three at-large city council seats are also up for election. The incumbents are Jeff Goerger, George Hontos and Lewis, who is running for mayor. So far, two residents, Scott Brodeen and Mindy Ellingson, have raised their hands. Local lawyer Scott Peterson and resident Charlie Hobbs have also declared they’re running but haven’t filed.

Some other competitive races are for Stearns County Commissioner District 2. Jerry Theisen is challenging incumbent Joe Perske.

Regarding school boards, the St. Cloud Area School District has three candidates who’ve filed for four seats. Incumbents Al Dahlgren, Shannon Haws and Scott Andreasen are all seeking reelection.

In House District 14A, incumbent Bernie Perryman is being challenged by Abdi Daisane. For District 14B, Sue Ek announced she will be the Republican challenger to Democratic incumbent Representative Dan Wolgamott. In District 13A, House Minority Leader Lisa Demuth is running against Cindy Aho. In 13B, Representative Tim O’Driscoll is being challenged by Dusty Bolstad.
