(KNSI) – The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office says a man had to be taken to the hospital after an officer-involved stabbing incident late Saturday.

According to a press release, a deputy pulled over a driver at about 10:30 Saturday night for speeding and potentially driving under the influence on Highway 25 in Pierz Township. After field sobriety tests were performed, the man was told he was under arrest but began to struggle with the deputy.

During the struggle, the suspect was seriously injured with a knife and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. The deputy was not hurt. The incident was captured on video, which has been turned over to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
