St. Cloud VA Takes Top Honors for Environmental Stewardship

(KNSI) — The St. Cloud VA Health Care System has received the 2024 Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award from Practice Greenhealth.

Practice Greenhealth’s Top 25 designation goes to hospitals that demonstrate innovation and achieve measurable results in sustainability initiatives. The award recognizes an ongoing commitment to sustainable practices throughout healthcare facilities and highlights a dedication to providing veterans with exceptional care while minimizing the impact on the environment.

The recognition says the VA does this by recycling and reducing waste with food, paper, and water, eco-friendly building designs and renovations with energy-efficient LED lighting, green cleaning methods, using green spaces for wellness activities, increasing the use of EVs and virtual health services, and looking into renewable energy solutions.

The St. Cloud VA was also honored with multiple Circle of Excellence Awards, recognizing leadership in sustainability categories such as greening of the operating room, energy and environmental design in building construction and environmentally sustainable purchasing practices.

This is the eighth year in a row the St. Cloud VA has been named among the nation’s leaders in environmental responsibility.
