(KNSI) – Members of the armed forces and their families can check out the Stearns History Museum for free all summer long.

The offer runs until September 2nd. The museum is participating in the Blue Star initiative, which is funded through the National Endowment for the Arts. The program aims to give active-duty soldiers and their families a place to have fun and connect.

The free admission program is available for those currently serving in any branch of the military, members of the Reserves, National Guard, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members.

In addition to the Stearns History Museum, the Blue Star Museums program includes children’s museums, art, science, and history museums, zoos, gardens, lighthouses, and more. They’re found in all 50 states.
