(KNSI) – A St. Cloud business could be going up in smoke after a police raid on Friday, May 17th.

The SCPD Community Response Team, city health inspector, and Minnesota Department of Health Office of Medical Cannabis executed a search warrant at Smoke N’ Cloud, located at 2800 West Division Street. They had been tipped off about the sale of illegal cannabinoid products at the store.

Officials say in a press release that over 32 pounds of illegal THC gummies were seized, testing anywhere from 35 to 120 times above the legal serving limit. The 2023 law that legalized edibles says the potency of THC, the ingredient that produces a high, must be kept to 5 milligrams per serving or below, and THC is capped at 50 milligrams in total per package.

The state Department of Health says it found additional merchandise that was non-compliant with state law. The release did not specify how the product violated the law but stated it is valued at several thousand dollars.

The investigation is ongoing.
