(KNSI) – A Pierz man had to be rushed to the hospital after he was badly burned when his camper exploded.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Pierz Park Campground just after 7:00 on Sunday morning for an injured man who was bleeding. Investigators identified the victim as 57-year-old Paul Hoheisel. Deputies reported finding the camper stove turned on, and there was a cigarette lying on the floor. Officials didn’t say if that’s what led to the accident.

Hoheisel was alone in the camper. He was rushed by Life Link helicopter to the Hennepin County Medical Center. His current condition is not available.
