(KNSI) – The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office says the body of a missing kayaker was found at 8:57 a.m. Tuesday.

Shane White was from Overland Park, Kansas. The 39-year-old man was discovered in 11 feet of water, about 800 feet from the shore on the southwest side of Nest Lake. He had set out on Saturday evening but never returned.

Search crews began combing the area on Sunday morning, discovering White’s kayak without him nearby. The body still needs to be officially identified, and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office will complete an autopsy.

Officials say several local agencies are helping in the investigation, which is still ongoing. Sheriff Eric Tollefson says dozens of volunteers assisted in the search, and community members with property along the lake were diligent in searching for White.

The Nest Lake Property Owners Association and O’Neil’s of Spicer help provide meals during the recovery efforts.
