(KNSI) – St. Cloud Area Restaurant Week has only one rule for Tuesday: the food has to fit in your hand.
And if you have ever been to Dolsie’s Lunch Box Grille or MC’s Dugout, you know we’re playing a bit fast and loose with that stipulation. Visit St. Cloud Executive Director Rachel Thompson says this is the one category where some submissions are not on the normal menu.
“So the two that I mentioned that are going to be just for the month specific are MCs Dugout, which is a smoked cheesesteak Philly and then the White Horse, which is a peanut butter Chipotle Wagyu beef taco. Now that is a mouthful, and I am so excited to dive into those.”
Thompson says both restaurants expect to add the items to their regular menu if they catch on with customers.
One offering in the heart of Sauk Rapids is at what Thompson considers a hidden gem. “Maybe not everybody realizes that Manea’s Meats has a “sangwich” shop, intentional on the Cuban roots there with the G in the name. It’s Pio’s Sangwich Shop, they feature their El Cubano.”
Manea’s Meats has become a favorite for grocery store and deli purchases, but don’t sleep on the restaurant side of things.
Lost Times Tavern also has a sandwich for you to consider in Sauk Rapids. There are plenty of other sandwiches offered up. Handhelds are a bit quirky, though. To go along with some lunch favorites, you can taste the Oreo Dirt Dessert Shake at Flat Iron Nutrition or Cold Spring Bakery’s custard-filled long john.
