(KNSI) — The Sartell Police Department says it has identified a juvenile suspect in the vandalism that destroyed the bathroom at Watab Park.
Pictures posted on social media on April 30th show the toilet being severely damaged, the toilet paper dispenser damaged, and the sink completely demolished.
Officers thanked those who helped share the pictures and get the word out, which they say in turn generated multiple tips. The damage was significant enough to warrant felony-level damage to property charges potentially being filed.
In an updated post on its Facebook page, police say Sartell is a beautiful city with many amenities. The city does its best to keep it safe and accessible, but it takes everyone contributing to do that. They also say parents should talk to their kids about the seriousness of damaging property and use it as a teachable moment about the importance of “when you see something, say something.”
