(KNSI) – The Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day was a success in the St. Cloud area.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office reports they took in 54.7 pounds of unneeded, unwanted and expired medications at the Walmart in Sartell.
During drug take-back day, people can bring prescription drugs to a collection site and put the bottles inside anonymously and with no questions asked.
Those pills are then properly disposed of so they don’t end up in the wrong environment or hands. For those who couldn’t make it to a drop-off site, there are other local controlled substance disposal sites available year-round.
