(KNSI) — The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office has released the name of the man killed in a fire Sunday afternoon.
Investigators say about 1:45, 76-year-old John David Schram of Sauk Rapids was found outside an outbuilding that was on fire at a home in Watab Township. A passerby saw Schram, who appeared to be engulfed in flames. The person called 911 and tried to render aid to Schram, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sauk Rapids Fire Department knocked down the flames in the outbuilding and also put out uncontrolled fires engulfing two outdoor wood-burning stoves.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
