(KNSI) — A Sartell man stands accused of ten felonies for allegedly failing to file income tax returns and filing false or fraudulent tax returns.

The Ramsey County Attorney’s Office says Mark Anthony Zajackowski filed fraudulent individual income tax returns by underreporting his income for tax years 2017 through 2020 and failed to file an income tax return for tax year 2021. The complaint alleges that Zajackowski also failed to pay income tax for tax years 2017 through 2021.

The Minnesota Department of Revenue says that despite multiple letters demanding he file his returns and pay income tax, Zajackowski spent his money on gambling, a boat, and properties in Florida instead. He reportedly owes over $152,000 in taxes, penalties, and interest.

Each tax-related felony charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.
