(KNSI) – An arson suspect from Dassel has been charged in Meeker County District Court for a couple of incidents from late last summer.
Barry Klingelhoets is accused of burglarizing a home on August 28th and then returning a couple of weeks later to light the person’s truck on fire. The flames spread to the garage and then the home itself, causing heavy damage.
The property is on 240th Street in Dassel Township, about a mile and a half northeast of the city. An investigation was helped by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Laboratory. Combining the evidence collected with surveillance video led deputies with the sheriff’s office to Klingelhoets.
He is charged with 1st degree arson and 3rd degree burglary. Klingelhoets was already in the Meeker County Jail for an unrelated matter.
