(KNSI) — The Minnesota State Patrol has recorded over 600 crashes and spinouts statewide since midnight Sunday.
According to the latest figures released just after 7:00 Monday morning, there were 396 crashes. Twenty-two of them were injury crashes, and one was a fatal crash. That happened Sunday afternoon on Interstate 35E near County Road 42 in Burnsville. Crash investigators say 51-year-old Elizabeth Evans lost control of her SUV and hit a tree.
Three hundred ninety-nine vehicles spun out or went off the road. At least 14 semis jackknifed. One happened on Highway 10 just south of St. Cloud near Highway 301. The semi was in the ditch with the cab almost on its roof.
The winter storm warning will continue until 7:00 Tuesday morning.
